ALEXIS MCEVOY is married to Mick and they have a 21 year old son in the Royal Fleet Auxiliary. They all moved to Langley from Reading in 1981 where, for the last nineteen years she has run the Langley Village Restaurant with her husband.
Alexis was educated at The Kings Warren Girls Grammar School in London before moving to Sarisbury Green with her parents and two sisters. She completed her education at Fareham Girls Grammar School in Fareham, Hampshire. Alexis later joined Southern Gas where she eventually became the Manager of their largest Gas showroom based in Reading.
In 1994, Alexis felt it was time to put something back into the community and completed an Initial Certificate in Teaching Basic Skills. This enabled her locally to help young and older adults to improve their literacy skills. Having got the bug for improving her education, Alexis jumped in with both feet and decided to study for an Open University Degree. She started the course in 1996 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science with Honours Degree in December 1998.
